Networked mobility, networked actors

Dec 11, 2018

Supporting networked and integrated mobility services is one of AustriaTech's core tasks. In numerous projects and initiatives, our employees dedicate themselves above all to the harmonised European dissemination of connectivity and C-ITS.

The networking of road users, vehicles and infrastructure has many advantages. Increased efficiency, sustainability and safety are decisive advantages that affect the transport system through connectivity and C-ITS. AustriaTech supports this development in several projects and initiatives: for example in the ITS corridor project CROCODILE, the European C-Roads platform or with the Interreg project Linking Danube. They all aim to promote networking in a pan-European context.

It is therefore crucial that technical innovations and developments spread harmoniously in all member countries. AustriaTech is therefore in constant exchange with numerous actors, project partners and operators. Last month the exchange continued at the Hungarian Transport Conference, the ITS Forum in the Netherlands and a technical workshop in Romania.

Topics were the provision of static traffic data in the CROCODILE project. Five countries (AT, CZ, HR, HU, SL), for example, agreed to set up a pilot project for the cross-border exchange of static data. Using virtual reality demonstrations, AustriaTech also clearly demonstrated how real-time notifications can warn the driver of imminent dangers on the motorway.

Don't miss any more news about C-ITS and connectivity. With our newsletter you are always informed!
