DREAM_PACE

The Interreg Central Europe Project DREAM_PACE develops and implements innovative Demand Responsive Concepts (DRT) complementing regional mobility networks.

In Central Europe, mobility services and transport connections within and between different areas vary greatly in quality, whether in urban or rural regions. The Interreg Central Europe project DREAM_PACE aims to improve accessibility and connectivity in peripheral and rural areas by better integrating Demand Responsive Transport (DRT) into public transport networks.

To this end, innovative DRT concepts are being developed to complement existing regional mobility services. Previous DRT services were mostly developed as stand-alone solutions for specific needs and the potential of scalable strategies and solutions was largely underestimated. Therefore, the focus of this project is on integration.

The project partners are jointly developing a strategy for DRT for sustainable urban mobility plans to be taken up at EU level. The solutions in DREAM_PACE will promote a better integration of DRT and public transport, especially in the areas of Bologna, Pavia and Budapest. In addition, a stronger coordination of existing DRT initiatives in East Tyrol and Baden-Württemberg will be supported and integrated approaches for DRT in Split-Dalmatia will be implemented for the first time. The transnational cooperation thereby ensures that the project results can be adapted to the different characteristics of mobility ecosystems in rural and peripheral areas of Central Europe.
