Digitisation has now also reached the transport sector and permeates the entire domain. The mobility landscape is changing and new digital infrastructures are emerging. With the help of increasingly digital business models and service-oriented supply, new actors are entering the market. Digitisation affects all modes of transport and transport carriers - from private motorised and public transport to rail and sea transport. This also brings significant changes for suppliers and consumers.
The areas, which concern the subject of digitisation, are broadly diversified. These include, in particular, increasing automation and networking, such as automated and networked driving (CCAD), cooperative intelligent transport systems (C-ITS) and mechanical data acquisition and evaluation. The application of machine learning and artificial intelligence is also increasingly being used. Data protection and thus the protection of privacy must receive special attention here.
