Under the motto "Digital Transformation in Mobility", this year's ITS Austria Conference will highlight current and planned measures on how digital technologies and services can make a significant contribution to achieving the 2040 climate targets.
Already at the ITS Austria Conference 2021, the Federal Ministry for Climate Action (BMK) announced the development of its own action plan for digital transformation in the mobility sector. At the ITS Austria Conference 2022, the action plan for digital transformation in mobility was presented by Federal Minister Gewessler. In the course of the presentation of the action plan, the next steps were presented on how digital transformation in Austria can be shaped together. Digitalisation is not an end in itself but can make an important contribution to decarbonisation in the mobility system in addition to the social benefits. A holistic approach and networking, as well as the inclusion of all actors, should help to make the national mobility system sustainable, efficient and safe for the future.
The topics of cooperation and exchange were among the dominant themes and shaped the panel discussion at the conference in particular. In this context, all participants saw not only the great challenges we face but also the potential offered by digital transformation. A special feature of the ITS Austria Conference 2022 was the mixture of national and international experts. Germany, Switzerland, Austria and even the European Commission were represented.
