Last year's ITS Austria Conference on 23 October 2018 focused on new operator solutions - in the context of digital infrastructures and traffic management - as well as added value for users through new services and platforms and the new ITS Austria Work Program was presented.
The event was opened by Federal Minister Norbert Hofer, together with ITS Austria Chair Christian Sagmeister (ÖBB) and ITS Austria Vice-Chair Josef Fiala (ASFINAG). The opening was followed by numerous lectures and discussions by experts from research, industry and politics. Together with almost 200 participants from the ITS community, a lively exchange on current developments and needs of end-users as well as infrastructure operators and providers of mobility services took place.
The ITS Austria Work Program describes new responsibilities, projects and models, objectives and measures to create a mobility system that is characterised by efficiency, safety, effectiveness and sustainability. The focus lied on cross-modal cooperation in order to be able to collectively offer solutions for citizens. Digitisation creates technological options that enable mobility to be ideally tailored to the end-user. This requires, for example, the introduction of quality standards and data interfaces. Discussions, exchange, research and expertise are crucial for the further development of technologies, measures and solutions. The ITS Austria platform offers a forum to create trust between the partners and thus give them the opportunity to try out, pilot and ultimately roll out solutions.
